Ru guest posted on Golficity this week sharing 3 tips for planning a Scottish Golf Trip. You can check it out here. Our other host Graylyn has also been busy, this time writing a review of Tom Doak’s republished and much anticipated book The Confidential Guide to Golf Courses. This volume on Britain and Ireland is the first of five covering golf courses around the world. Doak as much of you will know, is one of the world’s leading golf architects having worked on courses including Pacific Dunes, Cape Kidnappers in New Zealand and our very own Renaissance Club in East Lothian Scotland.
Good news also for Scottish golf tourism as Aberdeen Asset Management have reportedly committed to the sponsorship of the Scottish Open until 2020. This doesn’t mean much for you the travelling golfer but it does mean that the Scottish Open will remain one of the great events on the European Tour the week prior to The Open Championship. So if you watch tournament golf in North America on NBC you are likely to see more great Scottish golf courses on your television. Talking of which, the layout of the 2015 Scottish Open at Gullane has been confirmed this week. This composite course comprising of Gullane Course 1 & 2 will be the perfect preparation ahead of the St Andrews British Open the following week.
