A build up of water on the service is caused by the firm surfaces not managing to withstand the huge volume of torrential rainfall, a common sight across Scotland’s links this summer. It’s apparent that the wettest June on record has left the Old Course, St Andrews with an unseasonal green complementation.
The free draining sandy soils ensured the surface water drained very quickly with the forecast looking set to be a mix of more sunshine and showers as The Open Championship creeps ever closer.
