A golf trip to Scotland feels a little closer today for those waking up on America’s east-coast after news of a new direct Philadelphia to Glasgow flight. As outlined below the flight looks set to launch in May just in time for the new golf season.

“American Airlines is poised to return to Glasgow after a gap of 9 years with the introduction of direct flights between Glasgow and Philadelphia.

From 07 May 2015 the airline will fly daily from Scotland’s largest city to Philadelphia, taking over the route from US Airways who have been successfully operating from Glasgow for over a decade. The development is part of the merger between American Airlines and US Airways.”

For more information on the new route visit the Glasgow Airport Website.

That’s good news for those familiar with the names of Prestwick, Trump Turnberry and Royal Troon on Scotland’s south west. It’s also just a 90 minute drive from The Home of Golf, St Andrews.

Buckle up and we’ll see you soon.
