More Bad News For Donald Trump In Scotland

Having recently failed in his bid to block a wind farm development off the coast of his golf course in northeast Scotland it appears nature too is fighting back against Donald Trump.

Ongoing repairs are being carried out to the signature 3rd hole at Trump International, just three years after the course opened for play in 2012.

As the only green site unguarded by large sand dunes which leaves it exposed to the gusty, sandy and salty North Sea air, the 3rd green has been relaid due to poor performance. The green staff have also thought to reshape the left run off area and right greenside bunker.

A leading environmental scientist commented,

“This is another example of nature taking it’s course within a dynamic dune system. Nature will always fight back.”

The ‘maturing’ of the course is quite alarming when you flick through the first images of the course back in 2012. The below image shows the famous 18th hole and illustrates the significant change to the stretch of dunes immediately to the left of the tee.

The development was given the green light in 2010 by the Scottish Government despite initially being rejected by local councilors on the basis it fell within a network of UK environmentally protected sites.
