This week host Ru Macdonald is joined by Scottish Golf Podcast listener Stuart Stein who recaps a memorable 6 day visit which included 13 rounds, 22 birdies and 28 lost balls during a Father & Son trip to north-east Scotland.
What I enjoyed about Stuart and his father’s trip was the basis of basing themselves in one region, one spot and maximizing the golf in the region. This allowed the pair to experience the glitz and glamour of the ‘Trophy Courses‘ which the masses visit briefly before moving to the next region but importantly the ‘Rough Diamonds‘ or hidden gem courses which are a fraction of the green fee but almost every time an equal golf experience.
For a visual reference however check out this amazing home video Stuart produced which wraps up the trip in a matter of minutes.
The courses played included Stonehaven, Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Trump Scotland, Moray Old, Duff House Royal, Royal Aberdeen, Cruden Bay, Murcar, Hopeman and Cullen. During the episode Stuart describes the nuances of each course and the variety of golf that he and his father enjoyed in the Aberdeen region of Scotland.
As a regular listener to the podcast Stuart was more than ready for the quick fire questions round which duly follows on guest post trip reviews.
